Our Philosophy

Target Athletes

Our focus is coaching athletes whose goal is to race a long distance event. If your goal is simply to finish or for social aspects, there are coaching programs that are better suited to you. Our aim is performance minded, competitive athletes who want to race to the highest level of their ability.

For many athletes the biggest road block is not their athletic talent but rather their lack of experience, especially when it comes to longer events. This typically results in an incorrectly structured training and racing plan leading to burn-out or injury.

Our belief and philosophy is that nothing is as valuable as experience. We’ve logged the miles and made mistakes and learned some valuable lessons. Now, it’s our turn to share what we have learned with you.

Why us?

Our coaches are neither professional athletes nor are they full-time coaches. They work “regular” jobs and have outside commitments just like you. Training for endurance sports in conjunction with a full-time job or a family is much different than training without time constraints. It takes dedication and discipline. We have successfully raced in these exact situations and will take all of this into account when structuring your personalized program. We want you to have fun and enjoy training and also have personal time with friends and family.

Give and Take

Just as there are no cookie-cutter athletes, there will not be any generic training programs at cogniTRI. What works for one person may not work for another. One athlete’s strengths are another’s weakness. Through your weekly feedback, we will be able to pinpoint your specific needs.

Let us hear from you: How are you feeling? Are you recovering enough? Is your nutrition plan working? The more feedback we receive, the better we will be able to maximize our training strategy for you.

Summary

A great training plan is only the skeleton for your race preparation. If you want to be successful you will have to push yourself and that’s not always pleasant. But that’s the way to get stronger and faster.

Training will be tough at times. You will experience pain. You will be fatigued. That being said, one of the biggest keys to success is to have fun with training and enjoy the process. We are here to guide you each step of the way to get you over those hills.

This will be one of the most difficult things you will ever do, yet when you cross that finish line knowing you raced the best race you have in you, it will also be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
